Description:
Parade Burgonet Helmet. Museum copy from the late 19th century The original was made by Lucio Piccininio (1535-1589), a master armourer from Milan, as a parade helmet. The helmet is cast in copper, with an electrotype silver plate finish. Embossed and chased after casting and depicts on one side, 'The Judgement of Paris,' and on the other 'The Rape of the Sabine Women.' There is an original leather lining. The original is in the Museum Fur deutsche Geschichte, Berlin. There would have been around 1 or 2 hundred copies made at the same time.
