Albums Documenting the Borg Family - World War I Veteran. A significant number of 1910- 1930s period photos both loose and in albums. Doctor Borg who lived in both Auckland and Fiji, was a World War I veteran of the Merchant Navy who accepted a post as a Gp in Fiji post World War I. Important, previously unpublished photos, include storm damaged homes in Fiji and a number of images from the Jubilee Celebrations in Levuka 1924, there are hundreds of images and numerous negatives, these images document an important period in both New Zealand and Fijian history at a time when anyone with a camera would have been a novelty in the Pacific Islands. As such this archive represents and evidences interaction between Fijian natives and a New Zealand family, the patriarch of which was the local doctor. 4 albums with numerous loose photos and negatives
