A Victorian naval midshipmans dirk, maker Gieves Matthews & Seagrove, the sword, comprising a white ray skin wire wrapped grip surmounted by a gilt lion's head pommel, with a gold bullion sword knot attached, over a gilt guard, all over a fully etched blade. On blade near hilt. Complete with engraved brass mounted leather scabbard, two hanging rings. Fitted safety mechanism. Blade length 45 cm total length in scabbard 61 cm
