An Australian silver trophy cup, unmarked possibly by a Williamstown maker circa 1875, the shallow ovoid body embossed with three shell cartouches within a stippled surround bearing the inscription 'Melbourne Annual Regatta / Saltwater river 20th March 1875 / Footscray cup / Won by / civil service club / O.H Wheatland 4' the stem cast as an oarsman supporting two oars above a circular foot with shell cast decoration 126grs. Total weight of silver. Height 19 cm.
