A Northern Wei Buddhist Temple Stele, c. 420-589 AD, of museum significance, sculpted from stone with clear features, the detachable double lotus base below a rectangular panel, the anterior sculpted with a central seated Buddha flanked by standing acolytes above a recessed panel decorated with mythical lions and a lotus bud in relief, the rear with seven seated buddhas within recessed alcoves, the apex in the form of stylised dragons, consistent weathering, China, 64 x 39 cm Provenance: From an Australian collection, previously from the collection of a Hong Kong resident
