A rare Pala period bronze sculpture of Ganesha, c.11-12th century, of Museum significance and quality, powerfully cast, seated in laitasana above a raised double lotus platform with his mouse at his foot, holding various attributes in his radiating arms, his naked torso with protruding belly adorned with a beaded necklace and flowing sash below a fine featured visage with diminutive tusks and curled up trunk, below an elaborate headdress with central lotus flower, smooth patina overall, superb detail and extensive evidence of worship, Eastern India, 18 x 12 cm.
