An archaistic jade phoenix pendant, probably Ming Dynasty, in carved opaque greyish-brown stone as an irregular loop with a crested phoenix head with an open mouth turning into a simple loop with coiled tail and short wing. Width 5.3 cm. Provenance: Purchased from Culty by Bluett & Sons, 18 February 1958., Purchased from Bluett & Sons on 22 April 1958, the Cunliffe collection, Bonhams, new Bond Street, November 2002, Lot 7.
