Melbourne International Exhibition 1880. Lloyd Tayler, F.R.I.B.A. second prize design award. Watercolour mounted on board. A rare and important historical piece showing the Exhibition Building that Melbourne almost got. Tayler was a very prominent architect at this period and is well known for his successful designs that still stand, such as Metropolitan Fire Brigade Headquarters on Eastern Hill, the Australian Club and the preserved Commercial Bank Of Australia. 63 x 129 cm
