A German silver table centrepiece, Hanau, Germany, circa 1900, possibly associated with Firma Schleissner, the oblong bowl with an anthemion rim border above a band of engraved floral scroll work interrupted by a mark at either side, the lower body of pierced arcades enclosing floral motifs, the handles either end formed as twin tailed mermaids clasping the rim, the stem heavily decorated and flanged, on a plain rectangular base on four paw feet, 33 cm high
