Description:
A fine and possibly unique Chelsea strawberry leaf-moulded gravy boat, very finely and spatially painted with a basket of flowers and insects. English circa 1750/2, raised anchor mark. Provenance: English Private Collection. Albert Amor Ltd London 23/09/2021 (7200 pounds). Robert Burke collection no 254, No record of another raised anchor marked example of this famous Chelsea model would appear to exist. This model is normally associated with the red anchor period, so the discovery of this earlier marked example is an important addition to Chelsea scholarship. 17.3 cm wide by 12.4 cm 12 cm high
