The lavish teapot & sugar basin w baluster body repousse, chased w flora, shells & scroll work, the pot w scroll handle & acanthus thumb spurs, insulator, & floral domed covers, the basin w beaded rim & gilt interior, all raised on curvaceous foliate legs w trefid feet & marked, the teapot inscribed to cartouche: 'Presented to F.C.Christy Esq. 15 years locomotive superintendent of the Victorian Railways by the officers & workmen of his Department, Oct.7th 1871'.
