A Japanese Koto Ware tea bowl, painted by Meiho, Edo period (1603-1868), circa 1850, rare extant porcelain tea bowl from the Koto Kilns (Shiga Prefecture) with design in overglaze red of the 'Ode to red Cliffs', a piece written by the Chinese poet Su Shi in 1082, describing a trip that he took with his friends on the Yangtze river, which took them past the purported site of the 200AD Battle of red Cliffs, with signed tomobako presentation box. 7.2 cm high, 16 cm diameter
