A bronze figure after Auguste Rodin's 'Pierre de Wissant', finely cast after Rodin's 1885 monumental sculptural group, the standing figure of Pierre de Wissant, one of the six 'Burghers of Calais', in a poignant depiction of despair and heroic resignation, lost in his own thoughts and with downcast gaze, his right palm facing upward as if calling the heavens to witness the injustice of his fate, signed 'A. Rodin', with black and green patina, raised on an oval variegated black marble base. Height 54 cm, width 19 cm, depth 33 cm
