A Russian Orthodox icon of the nativity of the Virgin Mary, late 18th early 19th century in tempera colours, gilt and gesso upon wood panel, the painted icon with nativity scene in arched panel with St Anne and St Joachin, the Virgin Mary and her parents with prominent gold halo, with inscriptions, surrounded by an ornate gilded ground and border, the panel with inserted battens to the reverse top and bottom. Length 31 cm, width 26.5 cm
