Description:
A rare and important Wedgwood trial piece sculpted by John Skeaping of an antelope buck and doe. Cane gloss glaze. Impressed mark 'Made in England' and indistinctly (Wedgwood?). Minute chip to hind leg. Length 21 cm. Professional restoration to base. A monochrome illustration of this appears in an early Wedgwood Museum publication with the caption stating it to be lost. Provenance: Richard green sold to Gary Langsford, auctioned in Australia and purchased by Rodney Robertson of Art & Industry Auckland, sold to our vendor.
