An early Maori pounamu hei tiki, the head turned to the right with chin to shoulder, ring carved eyes, hands to thighs, ribs evident. Mid to dark green tone with pale inclusions (kawakawa). Flat overall form. The original countersunk suspension hole broken away, another smaller below, height 8.8 cm.
