Boucheron 18ct gold and painted miniature brooch, circa 1910; the oval miniature depicting a seated young girl playing with birds, signed Paillet, mounted in a gold frame edged with chased foliate motifs, length 33 mm, width 28 mm, total gross weight approximately 10 grams, signed Boucheron, Paris, French assay marks, maker's mark.; notes; Ferdinand Paillet was a classical artist specialising in producing miniatures for the workshop of Verger who supplied them to some of the major jewel houses which included Boucheron. He used classical motifs to decorate jewellery and watches. Examples of his work are held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
