Pair of Davenport porcelain entree dishes and covers, c. 1815, decorated with flowers in the Chinese export style against an apricot ground with sponged-on gilding, the covers with armorial of Thomas William Giffard of Chillington, together with a covered cup and saucer, iron red Davenport marks to undersides (3), height 15 cm width 23 cm (dishes); height 12 cm width 18 cm (cup). Provenance: Private Collection, Sydney, reference: Sir Thomas Giffard (1491-1560) was a Tudor courtier, Staffordshire landowner and member of the English Parliament
