A large Japanese cloisonne vase by Hayashi Kodenji, Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1900, impressive ovoid form vase with fine-gauge silver wire, gold wire, and coloured enamels to a bright blue base of summer flowers including chrysanthemums and daisies, the neck decorated with lozenges and foot with a band of repeating petals, signed on the underside with mark of Hayashi Kodenji and silver rim on underside, 18.5 cm high, 14.5 cm wide,
