A fine Chinese Straw-Glazed figure of a court lady, Sui Dynasty (581-618) or early Tang Dynasty (618-907), elegantly modelled as a beautiful lady standing with hands clasped before her, wearing diaphanous robes, her hair pulled into two chignons, the straw glaze of rich, slightly greenish-yellow hue, covered with glaze apart from lower portions of the robes which have remnant red pigment. Together with a fitted hardwood stand and a fine purple silk lined and padded custom made Japanese wooden box, 31.5 cm high, 9 cm wide,
