Bert Oldfield's cricket bat from 1928-29 first Ashes test (Bradman's first test match), full size 'Gunn & Moore - W.A.Oldfield' cricket bat, match-used by Bert Oldfield, endorsed on reverse '1st test match, England - Australia', and signed by England - 16 signatures including A.P.F.Chapman, J.B.Hobbs. Patsy Hendren (169), Douglas Jardine (the infamous Bodyline Captain) & Harold Larwood (8 wickets); and signed by Australia - 13 signatures including Jack Ryder, Don Bradman (in his first test match), bill Ponsford & bill Woodfull. A few signatures fading, though most legible. Oldfield also used this bat in several games for Arthur Mailey's Bohemians. Provenance: A gift from Oldfield to St.George team-mate Ernie green in 1929, to his daughter Coraline Lewin, then by descent. Has been on display at the NSWca for over twenty years
