Description:
A Chinese carved Longquan lotus bowl; Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279); with powerful carving of scrolling lotus to the cavetto, and a keyfret border to the exterior above lotus petals emerging from the foot, and covered in a celadon glaze with olive tinge. Together with a presentation plaque. 7.75 cm high, 19.5 cm diameter; Provenance: presented to Diana stock by the Council of the Southeast Asian ceramics Society in Singapore, 1979. The Diana stock collection, Melbourne.
