Depicting Christ's lifeless body at centre hanging on the cross, with Mary and John the apostle mourning and Lord Sabaoth above in blessing, surrounded by four compartments depicting traditional images of the mother of God, including the Vladimirskaya, the 'Soother of Sorrows' etc., painted on gold ground with bright colours on rectangular wooden panel, with gilt and red opush borders.
