Large Victorian sterling silver snuff box, hallmarked Birmingham, 1861, maker rubbed, of rounded rectangular form, the hinged cover engraved with 'Presented to//John W.Thirkell//As a small token of respect//by a few members of the//Bishop Auckland Club//September 1871,' surrounded by c-scroll and acanthus and floral wreath, with thumbpiece, the base beautifully engraved with acanthus and rosettes, total weight 53gm, length 8 cm
