A fine French tapestry, 19th century, depicting a pastoral scene with figures and sheep after a design in the manner of Francois Boucher, later framed and glazed, 154 cm x 133 cm. Provenance: originally purchased as part of the Talgai homestead contents, Queensland. Talgai homestead is a heritage listed homestead in the Southern Downs region Queensland, it was designed by architect Richard George Suter in 1868, Verbal provenance dictates that the tapestry was sourced in Tasmania in 1850 from the UK and then was acquired for the interiors of Talgai in the late 1860s.
