Description:
M L Poum Malakoul (Thai-French, 1910-1973), temple Complex 1968, oil on canvas, Impressionistically painted with a large tree in the foreground, and a Thai temple scene with stupas and mountains behind. Housed in a simple hardwood and giltwood frame, 62 cm high, 78 cm wide. With frame 77 cm high, 92 cm wide. Provenance: purchased in Thailand, 1963-1968, Allan Henry Loomes OBE (1917-1990), and thence by descent. Allan Loomes was Australian Consul-General to Thailand (1949-1952) and Australian Ambassador to Burma (1958-1961), Thailand (1963-1968), south Korea (1968-1971), and Venezuela and Peru (1974-1978),
