George III Adam style mahogany and parcel-gilt regulator longcase clock, by Brockbanks, London, c. 1790, Westminster quarter hour chimes striking on eleven bells, the drum shaped hood surmounted by a bronze male figure, and enclosing a circular dial with Roman numerals, signed 'Brockbanks, Londres', above a pierced gilt brass sound fret, the breakfront trunk with a panelled door and carved with a Doric column, on plinth base, key and pendulum, height 250 cm. Provenance: bill Bradshaw Antiques, Sydney, c. 1983, the collection of Dr. Henry Mackellar Michelmore, Sydney, labels: made for the French market
