Rare hafted steel knife, Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, carved wood, steel, spinifex resin and natural pigments (with custom stand) a hafted knife made with a metal blade. It is secured with resin to a handle made from a single piece of wood bent around head and coated with natural pigment of red ochre. Length 29.5 x 2 cm. Provenance: Collected by Reverend Harold Shepherdson Millingimbie Mission 1920-1924 Jeff Fischer, Adelaide. Private collection, South Australia
