Two 19th century hand-coloured photographic portraits of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine of France, albumen prints hand-coloured in oils and laid on linen, stamped verso with Parisian atelier's details, framed in English gilt frames under glass. 25 x 20 cm (images). Napoleon, after Jacques Louis David's portrait of 1813, signed indistinctly lower right Sa Gosse(?); Josephine Bonaparte de Beauharnis, after Firmin Massot's portrait of 1812, signed indistinctly lower left Gerard.
