Description:
Georg Jensen, a silver bracelet designed by Ibe Dahlquist, composed of six large abstract links, signed Georg Jensen, numbered 233, mounted in silver, gross weight approximately 124.40 grams, length 20.50 cm. Ibe Dahlquist ranks as one of Sweden's most prominent contemporary silversmiths. She studied at the Swedish school of Arts, Crafts and design in Stockholm, after which, she started her silver workshop in Visby, with Mr Olof Barve where they both maintained close cooperation for almost 30 years, with Dahlquist focusing on the designs and Barve executing them. A breakthrough came in the mid-50s with the exhibition 'Contemporary Jewellery' where they showed off a series set in silver with fossils and rocks picked on Gotland beaches. She has designed jewellery for Georg Jensen since 1965, and her work is held in the permanent collections of the Goldsmith's hall in London, the British Museum and in the National Museum of Sweden.
