A French gilt lyre clock, last quarter 19th century, the eight-day movement striking the half hour and hour on a bell by a. D. Mougin, the circular dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes in a lyre shaped support on oval base with gilt metal mounts, painted all over with flowers on a gilt ground. Height 58 cm. Other Notes: AD Mougin was a gold medal awarded clockmaker working in the mid to late nineteenth century, he made clocks in the clock making region of Montbeliard and is also listed as having premises on the Rue de Turenne in Paris.
