New South Wales - Port Phillip District. Land and Emmigration receipt No.45, issued to Mr. W.G. Brodie of Moonie Ponds on 1st December 1849 for the payment of £135. The payment is in the nature of a deposit so that Brodie could participate in the purchase of Crown Lands. The receipt is signed by Charles Latrobe, Superintendent and Robert Hoddle, Surveyor in Charge. An extremely rare document and the first example we have offered.
