Description:
An Egyptian Limestone Stele, New Kingdom, circa 1550- 1069 B.C, the front surface engraved with a top register depicting a winged sun surmounting a falcon headed image of 'Ra' seated on a solar barge holding an Ankh. Below this the second register depicts a noble lady paying homage to a deity wearing a double feathered headdress and a Pharaoh with a Uraeus projecting form the forehead. Above the Pharaoh is an incised cartouche. The front surface with large areas of magnesium adhesion. The stele 25 cm high, 18 cm wide. 29 cm total height including stand. Provenance: Ex T. McAllister Collection, United Kingdom 1970's Art market, acquired from him during the 1990's while he resided in Queensland.
