A Japanese Kutani pottery figure of Daikoku, decorated in a polychrome Imari style colour palette. Daikoku, father of Ebisu, is the Japanese god of wealth and protector of the soil and patron of farmers. Modelled seated on his large bag of rice, holding his magic mallet above his head.
