A Japanese Sumida Gawa Ware Pottery vase, early 20th century, with impressed family signature of Inoue Ryosai, a waisted diamond shaped vase with a highly glazed black and cream waisted neck with pointed bracket handles flowing in undulations to the rough cast matt red body with applied child figures in high relief engaged in swatting a butterfly, a pagoda in a mountainous landscape to the reverse, impressed marks underside, height 25 cm.
