An oak elbow chair with Australian history late 19th century the central back splat, carved with flag, engraved 'H P & Co', with four cabriole legs joined by a cross stretcher. Height 81 cm, width 49 cm, depth 51.1 cm. Note, Huddart Parker & Co (H P & Co) founded in 1876 in Geelong, Victoria, was an Australian shipping Company trading in various forms between 1876 - 1961. It was one of the seven major coastal shippers in Australia at the time when shipping was the principal means of interstate and Trans-Tasman transport.
