A fine Regency mother of pearl and tortoiseshell tea caddy, the sarcophagus shaped body with canted corners fully veneered with mother of pearl and tortoiseshell in a lozenge design. The interior containing two partly veneered tortoiseshell tea cannisters and a mixing bowl. Gold hinges and escutcheon, pressed metal ring handles and cast iron ball and claw feet. England, circa 1810. Width 31 cm, depth 15 cm, height 21.5 cm
