A Japanese full suite of armour, mid Edo period and later, 18th - 19th century. A central lacquered steel breast plate, with a multi plate ridged helmet, metal face plate with hair moustache, leather, chain and laced arms and leg guards. The suit with gilt metal decorative fittings. With two original storage boxes and a display stand. One box retaining its leather cover.
