An exceptionally large and important Chinese carved ivory, 'Thousand arm Guanyin' set upon a fluted side hardwood base, then carved square pedestal platform. A circular base with carved Chinese characters, then a lotus leaf base. The multi armed Guan Yin having 3 sets of 3 faces, crowned by a seated outward looking Guan Yin. Either side of the central figure group is a standing male and female figure, each 37 cm high. Total height, without stand: 152 cm
