Description:
A Chinese red lacquer box carved with figures and landscape scene (Qing Dynasty Qianlong period), the wood box has an oblate body with a flat top and bottom, vertical sides, a round base, and a tightly fitting lid. The design on the cover is the mountains standing in the distance, the clouds are lingering, a pavilion can be seen hidden among the mountains, rocks and pine trees. An older man stood on the edge of the fence overlooking the river, as if he was admiring the beautiful scenery in front of him, the servant followed him and held a cane in his hand. There are orchids, peony, lotus and chrysanthemum pattern around the box, meaning 'Spring, summer, autumn and winter'. The whole lacquer box with a thick layer, the paint colour is impressively impeccable, the shape is dignified, and the carving is exquisite. It should be regarded as a masterpiece, and it is also the right choice for collection, height 9.5 cm, depth 24 cm
