An impressive large Chinese jade court seal, modelled as a stylised squat animal upon the substantial tablet, uncut, pierced with suspension cord, medium dark tone with pale highlight, soft polished finish. 12.8 x 12.8 x 10.5 cm. Note: This seal is the same form and honouring the historic Kangxi sandalwood seal sold by Sotheby's Hong Kong for $18.1m US in 2016, this seal was reported as 'the most important Chinese historical object ever to be offered at auction'.
