Printed bill of Lading finished in manuscript for the good ship the 'Terror' Sydney cove bound for Auckland New Zealand, 1846. Oval ink stamp of Sheppard & Alger, packet office, Sydney NSW. Ornate vignette of Britannia with the legend sold by W. Moran Pitt St, Sydney in top left hand corner. Including plan of the Accommodations of the ship Blenheim, A.1, 500 tons Burthen for Wellington & new Plymouth, New Zealand. Chartered by the New Zealand Company to sail from Gravesend the 15th June (1842) calling at Plymouth to embark passengers. John grey, Commander. Printed form on conjugate leaves 33 x 21 cm. Poop, between decks, dining room, Victualling Scheme for Intermediate cabin passengers. The New Zealand Company originated in 1839 in London with the aim of promoting the 'Systematic' colonisation of New Zealand & became involved in the settling of Wellington, Nelson, Wanganui, Dunedin, Christchurch & new Plymouth.
