A rare pair of Clarice Cliff tall candlesticks in the Autumn blue pattern, 12' tall in the Elton shape with tapering square section bodies decorated with houses nestled between and under ballooning trees, the circular nozzles and tapering bases in striking orange glaze with black trim, printed marks to base including 'Fantasque Hand Painted Bizarre....', 30.2 cm ea. Provenance: Inherited by our vendor from her grandmother, when she first admired this pair of candlesticks at age six, her grandmother boxed them away for many years until passing them on. Note: this rarer pattern has previously been called 'Balloon Trees'.
