A Chinese Canton export carved ivory fan, 19th century, the front ivory panel finely carved with scholars and pagodas, the reverse also carved with figures within trees and pagodas. The interior with pierced ivory panels. The fan painted with a gathering of nobles set in alternating interiors and landscapes featuring pagodas, the whole bordered with painted birds and fruit, housed in a period lacquered case, fan 52 cm wide.
