Large c1860's fighting Bowie knife half alligator horse head pommel ivory handle. Blade etched with eagle, banners and spears inside the banner symbolic phrase- 'America the land of Freedom' 'California Knife Patriot Sons Defender- Brave Volunteers' some of the phrase has been covered with staining on both sides of the blade. Length of the blade 12 ¾ inch with overall length 17 inch' complete with original suede scabbard
