Translation of poem: 'Breeze through pine trees, unwrap the blue ribbons, the moon shining through the trees facilitates the playing of the lute'. Seal: artist's name 2. Translation of poem: 'Bamboo grove, pond with lotus, quiet place for the wise men to meet'. Signed with penname 'the woodcutter of the clear stream' 3. Scholar reading. In this picture Qian imitates the traditional style of a former figure painter, 31.5 x 24 cm (each). Provenance: Purchased 1998 from a collector who purchased them in South Africa in 1968 from the estate of a British Diplomat stationed in Beijing before World War II
