H. H. 'Dally' Messenger, (1883-1959, rugby union and rugby league footballer, recognised as one of the latter game's greatest ever players, the 'Dally M. Medal' is awarded to Australian rugby league's best player each year in his honour): Postcard dated Jan. 8th 1909 addressed to 'Mr. H. H. Messenger, 'Kangaroos', Park Mount, Albert Road, Southport', writer mentions 'I hope you are now fully recovered from your illness, and in first class form for tomorrow. I want to see you beat Wigan', together with Dally Messenger's 'New Zealand' Silver Fern badge from the 1907-08 New Zealand 'All Golds' tour to Britain, and two reprinted photographs.
