D 4th Earl Of Sandwich (John Montagu, 1718-92, most well-known for being claimed to have originated the sandwich; first Lord of the Admiralty during the American War of Independence, he assisted Captain Cook in fitting out his fleet in 1778), Admiralty Warrant dated 25th Jan.1779 signed by Sandwich, John Buller & Henry Penton, transferring midshipman Charles Grey from Hms Squirrel to Hms Convert, countersigned by Sir Phillip Stephens.
