A French Empire gilt bronze mantel clock, the 3 inch etched dial with Roman numerals and Breguet style moon hands within a rectangular case surmounted by an urn with an allegorical figure of science standing holding a ball to one side and a telescope to the other, the base with applied decoration of cornucopia issuing fruits, with a twin fusee movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, raised on chased bun feet. Width 30 cm. Depth 11 cm. Height 39 cm
