A George III mahogany trunk dial clock, John Wood, Grantham, circa 1775, the mahogany dial bezel, long drop trunk with carved ears locating dial bezel to trunk. Well figured veneers to trunk which has a chisel bottom. Heavy cast brass bezel with convex glass. The 33 cm silvered brass dial, with Roman and Arabic numerals, signed John wood - Grantham. Single weight timepiece movement of eight day duration with anchor escapement, 129 cm high, 42 cm diameter, 24 cm deep
